A Bit about our Founder

Kate Blake: Co-Founder and Trustee

Formerly a nurse, Kate has extensive personal experience of being involved at the front end of caring for many years and in many different settings and care pathways.

Kate has a thorough all round knowledge regarding changing Government Legislation, Health and Social Care Directives and Policies and therefore, fully appreciates how they really impact on people.

She is a motivated and passionate campaigner that works tirelessly to improve the nursing and care that all our frail and vulnerable people receive. In the expectation that they will all be treated with the respect, dignity, compassion and with the kindness they so truly deserve.

Kate has also worked with the Audit Bureau of Circulations, where, as an Account Manager, she helped to raise the consistency of certification for the Free Distribution Sector, in the UK Newspapers and Magazines Industry. She introduced an industry’s quality benchmark and set up training workshops which had the key benefit of new standards in communications, reporting and operations between the Bureau and its members.

Her strong research skills are a major asset for the Foundation and she also has a successful fundraising track record.

Her capacity to utilise social media to capture the voice of people in nursing and care has helped the Foundation to gain a clear insight into the problems facing people who need supporting.

Her vision is for the Edith Ellen Holistic Carer Givers, who are recognised, supported, acclaimed and certified throughout their career for their Holistic Kindness in Care.
