GUEST BLOG - Chef Dave - My Favourite Recipes - Eve's Pudding (Apple Sponge)

As a busy Chef running a busy kitchen I need to ensure that all our meals are deliverable, nutritional, tasty and meet the K.I.S.S. principles.
Keep It Simple and Smart
So today I am sharing an old favourite and a hit amongst my customers.  This Recipe will have your mouth watering and running out the door to buy ingredients before you've reached the end... (I hope)

 
Eve's Pudding
This simple recipe serves 6 and takes approximately 45minutes to cook

Ingredients

6 Large Bramley Apples, finely sliced
200g unsalted butter
140g raisins
100g soft brown sugar
4 eggs
200g self-raising flour
6 large Bramley apple
 
ASDA - £0.84p per serving
 

TESCO - £1.05 per serving
 

SAINSBURY’S - £0.87p per serving



This recipe is not Freezable
Nutrition: per serving
·         Kcal 607
·         Fat 33g
·         Saturates 19g
·         Carbs 74g
·         Sugars 50g
·         Fibre 4g
·         Protein 9g
·         salt 0.51g
 


Method

·         Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.

·         Peel, core and slice the apples.

·         Grease a large serving dish, about 2.5 litre/3 litre with 25g/1oz of the butter and tip in the apple. Scatter the raisins over the top.

·         In a separate dish beat the remaining butter and sugar together for 10 mins until the butter turns pale and the sugar starts to dissolve.

·         Beat in the eggs, then carefully fold in the flour with a large spoon.

·         Spread the batter over the apples, then bake for 45 mins until golden.

·         Serve with the custard
